220000 tonnes per year of chicken litter - that's what needs to be transported into the plant
40000 tonnes per year of hazardous waste ash - that's what needs to be transported out of the plant.
The planning application tells us two things:
Current HGV traffic to and from the plant is estimated at 81 two-way journeys per day
Estimated new traffic for the plant is estimated at 78 two-way journeys per day
This proposal would double the number of HGV lorries on our roads which are destined for Ulster Farm Bi-Products
Wouldn't it be so much better if they didn't need to truck this stuff in from all across the North. If instead, they dealt with it in locally based anaerobic digestion units ?
